School Pictures 2010

So, our scanner is finally working! Yay!! Here are the girls' school pictures. Kayla's were taken by Picture People. But they were not Picture People prices! So I was able to buy 3 sheets! And it helps that I work at the school, so I get 50% off!
Isn't she just precious!? Little cutie--looks can be deceiving!!!!

~~And here is Leanna's picture from her school. I didn't purchase a package because I just knew they were going be ugly--cause of the horrible 1970s background! The same background they used when I was in school...a few decades ago! But the picture actually came out really cute! Anyway, they sent this little package home--I didn't pay for it...and they haven't asked for it back! So...here is her picture!

Shadycrest Field Trip to....

Manna Farms. And guess what?! I was a chaperone! Why? Beats me! Naw...cause I want to be involved, that's why! But...note to self: Only volunteer for indoor field trips!! Because it was super hot!!! I should not have flat ironed my hair, I should have worn shorter shorts and a thinner shirt, and man, I need a haircut!! No, but seriously, it was a cute trip. Manna Farms is the baby sister to Dewberry Farm. In size and in activities! But I am glad that it was that small. I was in charge of 4 kids, including Leanna. So it wasn't that bad--til we let them run loose! Then I was going crazy trying to keep up with them. But by the end of the trip, the kids were right by my side whenever they needed to be by my side. I think next time, the kids should wear the same color shirt, maybe even by class. it would make it a lot easier. It was still fun. Pat also came. And I think the moms and teachers appreciated a man being there. We used him to get the coolers in and out, for boy potty breaks, and for entertainment. We all know that Pat is a kid himself!!
Here are some of the pics from our field trip!

Here are my 4 kids! Aren't they cute?!?

Mrs. Soders and her class

Pat took this pic of me--this is what humidity does to my hair. And this is what heat does to me!! Crazy hair ...and I am spent!!!

I am really glad that both Pat and I got to go with her. I am sure it made her feel real special. And I loved being out there too. Despite the heat, I was happy to be there. Plus, I got to see and talk to some of the moms of the kids from her class. And I also saw some of the moms from Second Baptist. And we even took Leanna to have special (early) dinner with just mommy and daddy! She was beaming at that!

Brazoria County Fair

This past Monday, Pat and James took the older girls to the Brazoria County Fair. Mia and I stayed back--we both have terrible allergies. The last thing we needed to do is be outside sneezing all over the place! So the boys took the girls and had a great time. They took a lot of pictures. But most of them were action photos, and they didn't switch to the Action Setting--so they weren't good pics. But it doesn't matter--the girls had a great time. They rode rides, ate lost of "fun" stuff, and got to pet some animals. They got home around 9--which is way past their bedtime. Here are a few of the pictures.
Maybe next year, Mia and I will join them--as long as we take some Zyrtec or Claritin! ;0)

I Can't believe it!

I can't believe how fast time flies! Seriously. Tonight, well, this evening, we made a bold move! Pat and I took down Mia's crib...and set up the twin bed for her. It's a big step...and it seems so final. Cause now, reality hits--there are no more babies in our house! And there will be no more babies in the house...unless I can convince Pat to adopt! Highly doubt that. So I have to get closure. My babies are now, my big babies! All of them have grown so much just the past few weeks!
Mia is saying a lot ( and I mean A LOT) of words lately. I won't list them all cause I'd be blogging all night long! But I love to hear her sing, "The Itsy Bitsy Spider"! I love it when she says Penny, shoes on, please, cracker, snack, juice, Bless you, and my favorite is when she says "Night, night, nina!" Big girl! She loves to sing and dance. And slowly but surely she is warming up to the potty idea. I won't push her cause I don't have the energy or motivation to to do it just now. Maybe during the winter break...maybe!

Mia-Sept 2010

Kayla is writing her name, she's recognizing the sounds the letters make, and she's learning simple addition (2+2), and she's till learning (memorizing) her weekly bible verses and nursery rhymes. I used to think that she wasn't going to be so interested in school. But she has proven me wrong. She loves learning...she just gets distracted easily. And I love her style-she has her personal flair with clothing--totally 80's!

Kayla-July 2008Leanna is doing great in school. She's reading at the level that she's supposed to be by the 5th 6 weeks of school--or level 2. She recognizes all Kinder sight words and can read them. She's still drawing great detailed pictures, and she's doing well in her behavior colors. She has had 3 purples (which is "exceptional") and all greens (which is "good") since the 1st day of school! At her parent/teacher conference I was told that she is a very good girl and she's very helpful to other kids! She makes me proud!

Leanna-Sept 2006

Ok, this dress has been one of my favorites to pass down. I love this dress. I got it at Bay Gap the summer of 2006. I got it to theme it with Leanna's 2nd birthday party-a flower theme. And I have just loved it since. The color has maintained itself pretty well, even after numerous washings. And it's just so girly! Anyway, pretty soon I will have to part with it! But I got it's money's worth don't you think?

Pumpkin Patch at St. Andrews

Last Thursday we made a trip to the local St. Andrew's Pumpkin Patch. And when I say " a trip" it really means we drove down the the street! I love that everything is near us in Pearland. I love living here and raising the girls here. Love it, love it.
Ok, so I asked our very good friends, the Browns if they wanted to join us for a photo op at the patch. Of course Luisa wasn't going to pass up the chance, so they joined us. Here are some of the pics we got. The Landry family picture is not as cute as the Brown family picture though! But we did get some very adorable pictures of our girls.
Oh, another side note: Ever since the dust storm (as I called it) at Dewberry, my camera has these crazy little spots--maybe you can't see them, but I can. They are driving me crazy! And I bet it's on the inside of the camera, which would require me to take it the repair center, which I want to avoid (cause they keep my camera for about 30 days!)! Oh well...maybe I need a new camera?! Yeah, that's it!!
And the last picture is just all girls! 15 years ago, we would have never thought that we'd be taking pictures with our daughters!! Love my high school buddy!
