Christmas Parties and Programs

This time of year is so busy!  But fun!  Between the 3 girls, we had 3 parties, one program, and one educational/fun event.  Mia's class was part of the 3 year old Christmas program.  And it was really cute.  2 and 3 year olds on stage are ADORABLE!!!!  Mia makes one cute little elf!

Kayla had her Kindergarten party on Thursday at 9...and I got to attend!  It would have been sad if I didn't go.  But I made it.  Her class is pretty big--23 kids!!  We made Santa Grahams--super cute idea.  They played Hot Potato but instead it was Pass the Reindeer!  Cute game.  They got to look in their goody bags of penny gifts1  They got to make reindeer food.  And they each got a bag of doughnut holes ...to themselves!!!  I felt bad for their teacher--that is a lot of sugar...and they had 5 more hours before school let out!

I didn't get to go to Leanna's party.  But Pat did.  He didn't take very many pictures.  So, here are a few from her  class party. Her class did a book exchange.  And they also played a few games.  And of course they had some yummy food!  Mia is a lucky girl!  She gets to go to her own class's party, plus her sisters parties--and she loves it.  She loves the fact that she gets to eat cookies and yummy stuff at their parties!

(A Very Late) Back to School 2011

School's back in session!!! Oh how time flies! Well, our 1st day of school was August 22 this year! It came and went! Here are my little girls on their 1st day!
We took the big girls to school first. Here is our 1st grader and our Kindergartner in front of their school! Look at those big girls!
We walked Leanna to her class. She is in a new hallway from last year. And her class is close to Kayla's too! Her teacher is Mrs. Judge...she is a great 1st grade teacher. Leanna has a few of her old classmates in the class...but she has already made new friends too! Leanna loves her teacher. She makes 1st grade fun! Every Tuesday her weekly folder is full of all her work. And I am impressed with what all she knows. It's amazing to see how much bigger and smarter she is!!
And here is our Kayla bear--she had a rough start. When we walked her in she wasn't smiling much. Then we walked her to her seat...she started grabbing on to me. And when I told her to have a good day...she started crying---quietly, but it was so sad!!!! I HAD to walk out of there before I cried! Her teacher is really sweet though. She went over there and hugged her and stayed by her until she stopped crying. And the crying didn't last long. Mrs. Ainsworth said she stopped as soon as Emily--a friend from preschool--walked in!
And now, Kayla LOVES school. She has gotten on green and purples everday! No yellows or reds for her! And I see her work that she brings home, and I can see how much she is loving it!
And Mia--she absolutely LOVES school. Her class is right next to mine. She has Mrs. Erin this year--and she loves her! I am sure she wishes she went 3 or 4 days, but for now we will keep her at 2 days. Mrs. Erin says that she loves to sing, she loves her music class, and she is a leader! That can be good...but it can also be a bad thing!!

Soon to be 1st Grader!

Leanna! Here she is...Isn't that the face of a 1st grader?!

On June 1st, the kindergarten students had their awards ceremony and their End of the year party. One in the morning, one in the evening... And since my pictures are uploaded backwards, we'll start with the party pics. Here is a group shot of some of them.

Sometimes Mia will join them, sometimes Kayla will join them...The Awards ceremony wasn't a big thing. All the kids got a certificate for completing Kindergarten. I took a million pictures. My sister came to see the ceremony, and stayed for the party too. Of course we have a picture with her teacher.

And now my big baby is an official 1st grader! I am really sad...they do grow up too fast! Next year, there will be 2 Shadycrest Owls in the family!

End of School Year Fun!

Ok, these posts are LONG overdue! (I've been at war with this old computer of ours! It really is old...but it still works..when it wants to. And it hasn't wanted to...)
Moving on, here are some pictures from Mia and Kayla's Splash Day at school. These days are the days were they spend the day enjoying the water slides and having push pops, and they may even have their End of the Year parties. Well, Mia enjoyed her splash day. She loved it. Mrs. Mary was nice enough to take my camera with her and get a few shot of Mia.

Pat was able to go to Kayla's and get pictures of her class. He also took a few from her party.
On Friday, may 20th, Leanna had her Field Day at school. I braved it and went with Kayla and Mia! Not the smartest choice I've made..but what can I do? Anyway, we stayed for a few of the activities. Leanna and her friends were really enjoying themselves. I think Kayla & Mia were too. At one point Mia was walking and kissing each student on their forehead!! Why? Who knows...she is just as crazy as Pat! Anyway, here are the pictures.
