The Last Few Christmas Pictures

Well, Christmas time is over. The girls are pretty sad, especially as they see me taking the Christmas trees down. It really felt like Christmas whizzed right by us this year! But oh, well this just means the New Year is coming up. And I'm sure this will be an even better year for us, especially with our new addition!

Since Kayla has been sick, we hadn't gone to Uncle Walter's she til this past Monday. When we got there it was like Christmas all over again for the girls! They had gifts waiting for them from Aunt Debbie, Uncle Walter, Aunt Cheri, Uncle Jim, Cousin-Aunt Dawn, and Wally and Ashley! So the girls had fun opening up stuff! Then they had fun playing with Uncle Walter!

Opening more gifts ...
On Tuesday we took the girls to the Dickinson Park where they had the whole park lit up with Christmas lights! It was so cool. There were lights everywhere! Each section was lit up with a theme. The girls enjoyed it so much. It was such a sight to see. Next year we will be going back for sure. This year we went on the last day that they would have it lit up. We didn't know that, but we are sure glad we went! Here are some pictures from the park. Oh, the second to last picture of the girls on the little train, is funny. The man, which was an older man, was driving this little train around a designated area. But he was speeding the entire time. He's pulling these kids, listening to Christmas music, and is just hauling butt all over the park. It was hilarious. So I couldn't get a good enough picture because he was just flying by each time I tried. And the funny part was that James kept saying he was crazy Grandpa...Um, no, a grandpa would not be hauling butt like that! Anyway, it was just too funny. But Leanna loved the train ride!

Ok, this is the last entry for the year!! See in 2009!

Christmas Morning!

Our Christmas morning was spent at home. And it was a wonderful, lazy, and relaxed morning. Since the girls had gone to bed late (almost 1 am),we figured they would sleep late. Not so much. They were up at 8 a.m. It's better than 7, but it was still too early, specially since I went to sleep at 3 a.m.! So Leanna walks into our room, and asks if Santa left her everything she asked for. (Meanwhile Kayla is sleeping on her little Princess bed at the foot of our bed. She woke up in the middle of the night with a coughing fit, so we just brought her into the room with us. ) Leanna attempts to wake up Kayla so they can go downstairs together...and Kayla's response is a classic Kayla response, " I don't want to see Santa's toys. You go Lily." I was laughing!

We all go downstairs and it was such a treat to see their faces light up as they saw their gifts! I know Pat feels that we didn't get them enough stuff, but I know they got enough stuff! I'm the one who makes them pick up a million dolls clothes/shoes, pony brushes, and tea sets! Anyway, Santa had set their stuff up by the chimney. He also left them a thank You note for the milk and cookies! Leanna was thrilled to see the letter!

They saw their open toys and loved them all. Then they went to open up their wrapped presents. And OMG! Our living room was a disaster after that! But again, it was an amazing treat for us to see the joy in their face. Even Kayla who still isn't feeling well now. They were both so happy. They played with their toys while I made french toast (their favorite) with sprinkles for them. I tried to take pictures at breakfast, and Kayla yells, and I mean yells at me, " We are eating momma!" It was hilarious. Pat said, "Yeah psycho mom, let us eat in peace!" So I had to put the camera away. Is it wrong that I want to capture every memory?!? I don't think, so, but apparently it is! Oh, well! Enjoy the pictures!

Santa's set up for the girls...
Checking out some of the things Santa left!
Leanna checking out Santa's note and leftover cookie! Penny enjoying her stocking stuffer!

So in the end, it was a My Little Pony, Barbie, and Princess Christmas! They have plenty of toys now.
This coming week we are packing up some old toys to take to Salvation Army or Purple Heart. Leanna knows the drill...Kayla may not be so happy with it! We'll see how she does!

Christmas Eve at the Aguayo's

Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas! We took the above pictures on Christmas Eve, before heading out to my sister's house for our annual family Christmas. The girls were in happy spirits, even though they are both sick! But they still let us do some cute pictures.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We got to my sister's house around 7:45. So as soon as we got there, we ate. She had so much food...and I ate so much food! Slowly, but surely everyone started arriving. So we just hung out and talked and enjoyed each other's company. We do a gift exchange every year. (We pull names at Thanksgiving). We usually wait til midnight to exchange gifts, but we've had to change that since the kids are so young and cannot wait that long!
We let the kids; Leanna, Kayla, Joselyn, and Siena open up gifts before we passed out the adult gifts. Here are pictures of them opening up gifts while we were there. I should say that most of these pictures were taken after 9 o'clock. So, yes they are in their pajamas, but they stayed up until midnight! They were troopers! . The girls got a bunch of stuff...like usual. And they enjoyed every minute of opening up stuff and helping others open up stuff. They got clothes, shoes, Hello Kitty stuff, art stuff, Little Ponies, Barbie stuff, jewelry, and books!! They had a great Christmas.
Opening their Hello Kitty water dispenser from Tio Rey and Tia Bety!
Earrings from Tio Juan & Tia My!
This gift was the hit...a Hello Kitty Gumball machine. It's candy and it helps them save money! All 3 girls got this from Tio Erlin and Aunt Jodie!
Siena...super excited about the water colors and paint brushes!
Normally we try to do a family picture or a picture of everyone. But this year I was slacking, so by the time we did the picture, half of the people were gone! But I have to say that mom & dad and all 6 of their kids are there! So that makes me happy. Next year I will make sure that I take this picture before opening up gifts!
Baby Jesus Birthday Parties at School
Oh my goodness...I am so tired. But I am glad that we are out of school. We won't be going back til January 6th. Well, at least the girls won't. Teachers have a Staff In Service day on the 5th. Still, we all need time off!
Today was everyone's Christmas parties in their classes...or as we called them, baby Jesus Birthday parties.
I got to quickly go into both the girls classes. But Pat took the day off so that he could also be there. I went to Leanna's first to see if they needed any help. Then I went to Kayla's and waited for Pat to get there. We spent some time at her party, then went to Leanna's. I didn't get very many pictures, but I will post the few that I did get.
In Kayla's class, they made sundaes, with fudge and sprinkles. They also decorated a little ornament. Then they did the gift exchange. They were asked to bring a puzzle to exchange. Kayla got a cute alphabet one. And the teachers also made a goodie bag for each child.
In Leanna's class, they made a Christmas Tree from an ice cream cone. Very cute idea. You get green icing, and ice the cone and decorate it with ornaments, such as M & Ms, sprinkles, and marshmallows...then you eat the "tree". They also had a gift exchange. in her class they had to bring a book. Leanna got a Vegitales book. And of course, there were more goodie bags and treats form the students and form the teachers!
The girls had a great time in each of their classes. And I know it made them feel extra special because their daddy was there.
Now, we are getting ready for our family Christmas parties. This year we'll be doing Christmas Eve with my family and Christmas Day (lunch) with Pat's. Both the girls are very excited and looking forward to opening presents! Everyday they ask if we can open just one from under the tree!
