Giving Thanks!

Happy Thanksgiving!
What a great holiday to spend with family and loved ones...while you stuff yourself silly! Well, we had Thanksgiving Dinner at mom's yesterday. And today we went to Walter's house for round 2!
There are so many things that I am thankful for this year. The main thing I am thankful for is for the life I have. I have great family with my 2 girls ( and our 3rd on the way), with Pat, and of course Penny. Our little family. I am thankful for mom & dad, my sisters & my brothers. I feel blessed to have all of them living close to us, so that on special days we can all get together! I'm sure mom loves to see us all back at her house every Thanksgiving! I am also thankful for our friends. I don't think I could be the person that I am without their support & friendship! And the girls love all our friends like family, so that makes each of them even more special! I could go on and on about everything I am happy for. But I know none of it would be possible without God. So, I am truly grateful that He has blessed me with the love and happiness that I have!

Here are a few of the pics from our wonderful Thanksgiving...

Thanksgiving Projects

Oh my goodness, Thanksgiving is next week! How quickly time flies. I'm actually loving that because I am ready for this baby to be here!
At school, the girls made several projects to learn about Thanksgiving, the pilgrims and the Indians. And this past Tuesday they had a "Thanksgiving Feast" at school. Leanna class got to eat in the Fellowship Hall with the older kids. But Kayla's class stayed in their class. Anyway, their "feast" consisted of chicken nuggets, corn, a roll, and a snack...kinda Thanksgiving-ish, especially for that age. from what I've heard, the kids devoured everything!!!
Each of the girls made a place mat for themselves. And classes were supposed to either be Indians or Pilgrims...it ended up that both the girls were Indians, so they made an Indian headband.
When we got home on Tuesday I took some pictures of Leanna's work, because she brought her stuff home then. Kayla brought it home today. So we took more pictures today. Here they are showing off their work...

At home we also made a Thanksgiving project. We made a "Thankful for..." turkey. Sylvia and I made the turkey from yarn and foam balls. So all they had to do was the feathers. But I had the girls tell me what they were thankful for. We'll use the turkey on Thanksgiving day, and have each person write one or two things they are thankful for. So far the girls are thankful for their friends, Barbie, the Princesses, our house, mom & dad (I didn't think they would mention us!), grandma Flor, and their toys! Sweet girls...here are the pictures of the poor turkey so far. He's been abused by the girls!
Hopefully this Thanksgiving we will get to go somewhere and enjoy family time. last year both the girls were super sick and we stayed home. As of today we are officially on Thanksgiving Break from school...and there is lots to get done...

Our Big Girls!

Well, I know it's normal for our kids to grow...but lately it seems like both the girls are just growing up so quick!

Kayla is now doing an amazing job with her potty training. She goes "tee-tee'' and "poo-poo" in the potty like a big girl! And she does it at school too! YAY! Now we need to get her to get up at night and go, so she can stop wearing a pull-up. Although she's been wearing a pull up only about 3 weeks. Soon, though, she will be completely out of them...I'm hoping!
And now she also shares a room with Leanna. I thought I would never get her out of the other room. But I guess I just needed to give her time. She sleeps in a big girls bed now and doesn't want her "baby" bed. Well, last night with all the rain, she did ask to go in her baby bed.
Both of them in their room...I still need to paint Kayla's sign...working on it!Yes...Kayla needs her pillowcase...she has it now!
OK, so a few weeks ago we put curlers on Leanna's hair overnight. The next morning, her hair was too cute. Well we did it again this past weekend. And I took some pictures of her results. This time, it was way too curly, but it was still cute. Once she had them off, Kayla wanted them on too. I never attempted curlers on Kayla. because I know she would yank them out! And when she did have them on, she only kept them on for about 35 minutes! They still made a few curls! Aren't they just too grown up for words? I know...I'm just a hormonal mom! So I will post one more picture...on our way to church on Sunday! I didn't quite get to smile before the picture was taken...but yes, I was happy!

Happy Halloween!

Well, we took the girls trick or treating on Halloween Friday. They had been looking forward to it all day! We got them ready around 5:45, after dinner. They were ready for Pat to come home, so we could start the adventure! When he did, they barely let him eat dinner! Leanna wore her Alice in Wonderland outfit, while Kayla wore her Minnie Mouse outfit. I didn't have Kayla wear the ears because I knew they wouldn't stay on for more than 2 minutes. I think I have one picture of her wearing them though! Leanna wore all her stuff with no complaints! It was a cool night, so they went ahead and wore their tights, which I was not thinking they were going to wear! They looked adorable! I loved Kayla's little Minnie heels on her. And for being just 2 years old, she did great in them. She walked like a pro in heels. Of course by the end of the night, she didn't want to walk anymore! We did about 2 1/2 streets before they were spent. We brought the wagon with us, which really helped. Otherwise, we probably would have only walked 1 1/2 streets. The girls did great walking up to the doors, saying "trick-or-treat!" and thanking each person that gave them candy! At some point they were just running to each house...but that didn't last long!
It was a fun night...we all enjoyed it. But it was pretty tiring. Now, we have so much candy though. I have taken some to school and sent some to Pat's employees just so I can get rid of it! Luckily the girls don't eat much candy! So it's not bad when they see it going away! So, if you come by the house, you will be offered candy! :0)
This is before we head out!Even Penny is ready to get some treats!
This is Penny at the end of the night!

Happy Halloween!
