Christmas Eve 2010

Plans for 2011
For myself--I will say again--try to lose weight?!? I know, it's a repeat. But to be quite honest, I really love my body. I may not be a 2 or a 4, but I am a happy healthy girl! BUT, I will at least try to do a workout here and there! So, again, wish me luck!

Eat better--that goes hand in hand with the previous one. I don't eat terribly either. But I will start portion control. I will stop eating when I am full. Even when it's Thai Cottage--I eat that until I can't breathe!

I do want to do at least one 5k this year. It may be a spring or a fall one. I'm not trying to pass out in the summer or freeze in the winter!

Scrapbook--the good old fashioned paper way! I want to at least glue pictures on 12x12! I don't have to embellish like crazy, but at least have 2-4 pics with some journaling!

Speaking of journaling- I am going to start writing in my journals again! I actually started back up in the fall. And I love how it feels to express myself on paper, whether it's because I'm sad, mad, happy, or just want to share my successes or failures!
...for now that is it! We'll see how long I can commit to any of these! If I don't commit, no big deal. As long as I am loving life, enjoying my family, and living how I want, then that is all that I need in 2011!

December Pics

I missed blogging so many activities from December--so here is a quick post--lots of pics.

Ok, for some reason I couldn't upload the Christmas parade pictures, except for this one! This was at the beginning of the parade. Linda, her kids, her friends, Fallon , her husband and kids, Melinda and her kids, all joined us. So it was fun filled and friend surrounded night! Loved it! And oh yeah, I want my own teenager after this. Fallon's 13 y-o daughter had Mia happy the entire time!! She was awesome!

The 2nd week in December Leanna was Student of the Week. She filled out her own Info Sheet--well most of it--then I took over. but look how well she writes her letters. She writes better than Pat and my brother Rey! I laugh at the "a" cause she does it this way (a) instead of the way normal kids do it! Anyway, her poster with her pictures was on their door for the week. She felt so special each day! We went to eat lunch with her everyday. Well someone did, not necessarily me.
***These pics are from one of my kids' ( a little girl in my class) birthday party. Mia and I went cause the girls were at their Tia Elida's house for a playdate! Anyway, check out this Cinderella--she never sat down--for 2 hours! Oh, I guess I should have taken a picture of her "glass" slippers that were about 3 inches tall!

**Pictures at the Nursery Christmas Tree at Second Baptist (several Sundays)

**Warning: Dark pictures!
I took the girls to see the Kids Crazy Christmas Show at Second Baptist. And I wish I had brought the flip camera, because the show is awesome!!! My poorly lit pictures do not do the show any justice! That is the reason there are only a few!
Anyway, it's a puppet show about the the birth of Jesus geared towards kids. It combines hew hip music while telling the story. It was great! The girls, mom, Elida, and I LOVED it. The sang songs Like "All the Little Angels" with the beat of "All the Single Ladies" and another one to Michael Jackson's "Beat It" and a whole bunch of other songs. They even had ZZ Top come out! Well, people dressed up as ZZ Top! It was great, high energy, well performed, and short but sweet and to the point! I highly recommend it for next year. You don't have to go to the Woodway Campus show, which I hear is very awesome, but the one at the Pearland Campus, was very good too. Although I think I will try to take the girls to the Woodway one next year!
***This year we made our Gingerbread house from a store bought box. It looked so pretty and easy! Well...let's just say that for the next one, we will be going back to our traditional graham crackers, Betty Crocker icing in a can, and candy (leftover)from school goody bags!
The house on the picture is super cute, but I can assure you that we tried to get it that way-it just was not meant to be! But the girls and Pat did have a lot of fun changing up the design on it, eating the icing, and eating candy! The end result was even more precious than the box picture--A house with flair!
**The Saturday before we went to San Antonio we took the girls to the Christmas Train at Living Stones church in Alvin. I had seen the sign one day as I was driving. So we decided to go see what it was about!
It was kind-of-chilly night, so we loaded up the coats and blankets! But we didn't really need them when we got there. And I was very surprised at how cute and well managed this Christmas-Train-in-a-church was! But they have been doing this for about 10 years I think. Anyway, you buy your ticket to ride on the train. The prices are great-$4 for adults & $2 for kids (3-12). We couldn't beat that Mia was free! $8 is what we spent! Anyway, you get a colored ticket and wait for your color ticket to be called so you an get on the train. While we waited we walked around looking at all the different set ups they had. They had a little village, a Santa set up, a hot cocoa set up, and popcorn set up, and a living room area set up( where you could sit by the fireplace and enjoy your hot chocolate!). There was a lot to keep you busy while you wait!
Once they called our color, we piled in to the train. Every seat had a fleece blanket! Cute!! And you went on the ride to see the lights. It was the story of the birth of Jesus! Very adorable. I don't have pictures because I brought my new camera with me, but I didn't (& still don't) know how to use the night or moving lights setting--so, please forgive me for that! But, take my word for it, the lights were all cool! And so was the train ride! So, next year, take your kids there! It's a quick trip to do something fun!

San Antonio Santa Pics

Feliz Navidad...Merry Christmas!

***WARNING: Picture Overload***

Merry Christmas from the Landry's!

Our Christmas Eve was spent at my sister's house. We usually celebrate at their house because it's much bigger and can accommodate all of us. We took a lot of pictures throughout the night. We all ate tons of food, hung around, watched the kids open up their gifts, and then we did the grown up gift exchange. We stayed there until midnight. The girls fell asleep on the ride home of course.
Dad and the girls.
This pic begins the family pictures--I love that we did this!

Around 10 pm the girls got in their pjs and still played around. They were excited with all their gifts. And they really love Elida and Juan's house.

~~~~~ Christmas Morning~~~~
Santa made his visit after the girls went to bed. Although Leanna didn't want to go to sleep because she was afraid the reindeer were going to fall through the roof, I finally convinced her that she needed to go to sleep or Santa was going to skip over Pearland!
In the morning, they slept in until 8:30--they never do that! They even had to wake Mia up! I took a picture on the stairs(I'm going to get a pj pic every year I think) before they headed down to see what Santa had brought them. Once they were downstairs, they went to town opening up gifts, sharing dolls, helping each other open up up the next gift, and making a big mess! But the look on their faces was very worth it! They had a great Christmas!
This is at mom's house. Tia Irma got the girls some new books and new clothes.
These are at Uncle Walter's house. We went there in the evening.
And these last ones are from James house. This is where we ended the night. We did a Chinese Christmas there --well, the grown ups did. And we played some Win, Lose or Draw!
