To keep our girls busy and entertained we try to do at least 1 fun thing as a group each week. Well, this week, we chose the Battleship & San J
acinto Monument. That was our plan...but with 3 girls, things change...at the very last minute!
We got to the Battleship around 1ish. Things have changed since I last went to see it. For instance, now you have to pay to park! What is that about?! You have to pay $1 per adult! I know the $ is used for maintaining this enormous vessel--but seriously?! Moving on...Now admission is $10 per adult---kids are still free, which is great since we have 3! So after James, Pat and I get our "admission token" we walk aboard this massive ship. the grown ups are excited of course, hot but excited. The girls--a whole different story. They are not very interested in the ship at all. Here are the ?s I had to try to answer:
Why is it this color? What are the big guns for? Why doesn't it move? Why does it look old? Why is it boring? Why isn't it moving?
Besides the battleship ?s, I also had to hear this:
I'm thirsty! I'm hot! I don't want to be on here anymore! Can I get some water? It's too hot to be on here. I don't want to down the stairs. Carry me up the stairs. So on, so on...We have total girlie girls in our hands. They were not in the least bit interested in the fact that this ship is almost 100 years old. They didn't get interested in the big cannons, or the bunk beds, the kitchen, or the huge anchors. They did get excited in one room--I'm not sure if it was the Captains' Office or what, but it was a room with a nice dining table and some silver tea sets, as they called it--the Tea Room. That was the most exciting for them. As you look through the pictures, you will see grouchy looking girls...
And as far as going to the monument--Yeah, we didn't quite make it there. They didn't even want to go. Leanna quickly reminded me that she had already been there last year! But we still took them to the park part of it to try and feed the birds. And that was a bust because the birds wouldn't get near us! very different from those Galveston sea gulls that's for sure!

We spent our Father's Day at mom's house. WE hadn't really planned much, but we always just head out to mom's! All the family was there. my mom and sisters had prepared a delicious brisket dinner for the daddies. And there is always too much food there! And on this Sunday the topic was the World cup! Once that conversation started in the dining room--I went outside and let the girls swim. I enjoy soccer, but too much is just too much! Anyway, it was Father's Day--so let the men enjoy the conversation/argument! Haha!
Here are some pictures from the pool...

Look at Mia! Happy Father's Day!--
Waaaa!

This one is funny--the girls decide to "walk" on
their Tio Omar's back! They did this about 4 -5 times--he didn't even care! He's a
softie at heart!

Oh on this day, Kayla decided to try swimming...and she did it! Pat would stand about 4 feet from the stairs and she would swim to and from him! Amazing! He said it was her father's day gift to him! I guess so, since we still owe him a gift. I know it's sad...but shopping with 3 girls for guy stuff is just not my cup of tea! I am going to shop this week..a.s a matter of fact, I might shop online after this post!;0)
I hope everyone had a fantastic day with their daddies!
