Last Day of School

Well that time of year has arrived...Leanna's last day of school! I was pretty sad cause I know she will miss it. And I know we will miss it too! I had Leanna make her teacher, Mrs.Condrey, a card to tell her Thank You for having her in her class halfway through the year. Since Mrs. Mary left in January, Leanna and a couple of her classmates were left with no class. Poor Leanna bounced from class to class for 5 weeks. Finally they decided to put her in Mrs. Condrey's class. That class was a 4 day-a-week class. I let her go 2 days a week until mid-April. We decided that she should try the 4 days. And she did well. She kept up with the kids (they are 4year olds) and learned as much as they did. Anyway, she was happy and she made new friends too.
So we decided to get Mrs. Condrey a Thank You gift from Leanna, which is why she made her a card! I was proud of her because I told her to place the flowers stickers wherever and then to draw stems and leaves on the flowers to make a garden...and this was her end result!

We got a Kemah gift card and a candle set to go along with her card. She was so excited about her gift and card! She ended up giving the gift to her a day early. It was OK though, since really those last 2 days, the used as play days!
Here are a few pictures from her actual last day. My camera battery need to be charged, so they came out sort of blurry. And here is a picture of the class as well.

The whole class

There are a lot more kids in the pictures form the last day because the other 4 yr old class was there with them! But the picture above has all her class. Anyway, on her last day I met her teacher for next year. She happens to live on our street! So I already know where her class will be. And Kayla's class will be in the other building, but I haven't met her teacher yet!

Schlitterbahn

We are so lucky that Galveston is near to us. We are even more lucky that we have friends working in places where love to go. Today we went to see Stacy, at Schlitterbahn. It was a nice warm day out, and since schools are still in session we knew it wouldn't be crowded. We got there around 4:15 and stayed till about 5:45.
The girls did great. We played in the several kiddie areas and we also did the river. Kayla has to wear a life vest when we do the river, but let me just tell you, she hates having to wear it! And she hates being in the inner tube too. She wants to just be in the water, she has no fears! Leanna did well too. She was in the tube for a while. The she got brave. She even went under water. She was so cute. She would hold her nose and then just submerge her head underwater and come up really quick. She then would excitedly tell us, " I did it all by myself mommy!" Her nose was so red from her pinching it so tight! It was cute! Since James went with us, but didn't get in the water with us, he was able to get pictures of us while we were going around. It was great because we never have pictures of all of us...so thanks James!
Well here are some of the pictures form our lil' trip. I'm sure we'll be visiting Stacy a lot more this summer! Thanks Stacy!

Memorial Day Weekend

So this was a pretty laid back weekend for us. I tried to explain to Leanna why we celebrate Memorial Day...but she's 3...She just liked seeing the flags all over Pearland. I should have taken a picture cause it would have been appropriate. Man, too little too late now. Oh well.
On Monday, we went over to my sister's house, to Tia My's house. Her and Tito Juan were making burgers, they had watermelon, and cold iced tea!!! The right way to kick off the summer! We all just hung out. It was awesome. It was very relaxing. I brought the girls' pool over to their house, so they could enjoy a little swim. Oh boy what a mess trying to blow that up with a hand pump. Note to self: Always use the electric pump for that pool...if not blow it in the shade! It was 2 in the afternoon and we are trying to blow this thing up. It doesn't seem like it would be that hard...until you're actually doing it! Anyway, the girls did enjoy a swim! They got in it twice. They got very dark too. But they had a lot of fun. I tried getting good pictures of them...but they turn from me every time they see me coming with the camera. Little turkeys! I'm just trying to create memories for them!

A Hot Day Out!!!

This past Wednesday, which was an extremely super hot day, we had made plans to go back to Froberg's Farm, to pick strawberries. But all the strawberries were gone! So we'll have to wait til next year!

We decided to take the girls to a park in Alvin, since we were already in Alvin. And we figured we would let them play for about 30-45 minutes. We figured they wouldn't want to be out in that heat...boy, were we wrong! An hour and a half later I needed to drink no less than 2 bottles of water! I was so hot! The girls wer all sweaty and hot too, but it didn't bother them at all!

This park has 3 different playgrounds. The girls played in all 3 of them, in the slides, the swings, the merry-go-rounds, and in the tunnel! They were having a blast!

After the playground we took them to the lake/pond that they have there. And they were so happy because there were ducks everywhere! Tons and tons of ducks and their baby duckies! It was adorable. Pat went to get the girls' snacks and they started feeding the ducks. It was so cute. Kayla had no fear; she would walk right up the mommy duck and the baby ducks. Then she would feed them goldfish up close. Leanna and Siena were a little more cautious...but not for long. Once they saw Pat feeding them up close, they all wanted to get up close too. They were right at the edge of the water. Here are some pictures of all of them feeding the ducks and watching them from the dock!

This is a cute picture of mom and the girls!

We'll have to come back to this park, because it was really cute, despite how hot it was.

Just Random Pictures...

Well we haven't done much since Kayla hasn't been feeling well. They both have had a stubborn cough that won't go away. The past 4 days we have been home. We have been playing in our backyard most of the time (when we are not in the house), we went to the park once, and went to see our friends this evening. So there is really nothing exciting to blog about. So I have decided to just post pictures of the girls from this past month. They are in no particular order...enjoy!

Astros vs. Nationals

Since Pat is on vacation this week, we decided to go to another Astros game. This time they played the Washington Nationals. I'm not too sure how I feel about that name... It almost seems like it doesn't go with a baseball team. Huh. Whatever...I'm just too girlie I guess!
Anyway, our girls wore their cheer leading Astros dresses. We got them both pom-poms from the $1 store. That explains why they are bright Hooter's orange and not Astros colors! Orange used to be an Astros color! Moving on...we got to Minute Maid Park early. So we took the girls to the little play area they have. They played & ran & cheered other kids as they were doing things! It was adorable!
So before the game is about to begin, we head to our section. We always get tickets for the section in the 420's for two reasons! One, because it is affordable (if we annoy people with the girls we really aren't ruining their expensive experience) and two, because there are usually empty seats all around us, so we can move if we need to! Which for this game, we did move...not because of the girls though. Anyway, the girls did great through out the game. They cheered and clapped and yelled like true Astros fans! The game was longer than we expected so we made plans to leave at the 7th inning stretch. When we left the Astros were losing. And of course as we're going down the escalator we hear loud screaming and cheering (I'm sure they scored!). We left around 9ish, which is their bedtime. So we definitely didn't want to stay much longer. The guys stayed until the end of the game, and they later told us that the Astros won! YAY!! Too bad we didn't get to see them win. But we still had fun and the girls surely enjoyed themselves.
