Pearland Rodeo Art Show

Ok, this post was started so long ago...that now, it's just time to finish it. The problem I am having is...you guessed it--computer issues! 90% of the time when I don't blog, it's because I am at war with my computer and/or uploading capabilities!!
Anyway, back in January, Leanna received a special letter from her school. She was so excited when I picked her up...
"Mommy, check my red folder. There is a special note in there because I won!"
"You won what baby?"
"Something. And I was the only one in class that won!"
So we get home and I open up her folder and see the letter. I open it up and see that her art work has been selected to be in the Pearland Rodeo Art Show. Cool! What is the Pearland Rodeo Art Show? Pearland has a rodeo?!? That was what went through my mind...but the letter also said that parents and community members were invited to the show and that the art would be displayed for a few days. So we head out to check out her work. At this time I still had no idea what her art work consisted of. She just kept saying she colored a teepee.
So we were pretty impressed at her teepee once we got there. Her art work had a blue ribbon--don't know what that means yet. And it was displayed with the other Kindergarteners from the district. It was pretty neat.
But I cannot upload the other pictures because they are on the computer that is not working with me. So here is the only one I have. Maybe check in a few weeks and I'll post the other pictures!
Anywho, we are proud of our little artist. She now has a goal to get her art in the show every year. She even made me take pictures of other art work that she wants to do. She loved the pencil/charcoal art and the oil paintings. I can't wait to see her blossom into the artist that she can be!

Mia Turned 2!

Mia turned 2 this past Friday. We took her and the girls to Chuck E Cheese for a little fun! But her birthday party was yesterday. It was a zebra/leopard themed party for her. i don't have many pictures because our main computer is down and the one I'm on is super slow. I refuse to sit here for 4 hours to load up 5 pics. Anyway, her party was a hit. We all had a great time. I didn't invite very many people/kids because, let's face it, Mia doesn't have very many friends...yet! Next year-totally different story!
Oh, here is a great shot of all my "wild" girls--I have to admit--they are gorgeous!

Here is the birthday girl-right after her nap and right before her party! The party started at2. Normally her nap ends around 2ish...so she wasn't amused! But she does look cute in her outfit right?!

Ok, her cake was made by Jennifer-the same one that has made the cakes for the other girls. And once again, it was beautiful & delicious. The food was simple, just the way I like it. Chips, dips, crackers, fruit, veggies, chicken salad, potato salad, pigs-in-a-blanket, chocolate covered pretzels, deviled eggs, and nuggets & Cheeto Puffs for the kids! And cake and ice cream!

Here are some pictures of the party.
The party was fun. Some of the girls came dressed in their animal prints! Mia had a fun time. She loved the pinata, the cake, and the presents! Thanks to all that came to celebrate with her! We hope you had a good time!
Happy 2nd Birthday Mia Gabrielle!

(Once we get the other computer up and running, I will post more pics)

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!
We didn't do much of anything for our New Year's Eve or for New Year's Day! We just spent time with family and relaxed. I hope that is a preview of what the new year will be like; family and relaxing!

Things that I'm looking forward to and (maybe) not looking forward to:
~Mia turning 2--my baby will be two in a few weeks!
~Spring--always love spring.
~ The arrival of baby Brooklyn--my newest niece to be!
~Kayla graduating from preschool! That makes me very sad!!!
~Kayla turning 5!!!!
~I will turn 35! No--is this when I go through a mid-life crisis? If so, I better start figuring out what my crisis will be....
~Kayla going to Kindergarten, Leanna going to 1st, and Mia starting Mother's Day Out!
~Leanna will be 7 this year! SEVEN!
~Pat and I will celebrate 10 years of marriage. We are actually planning to renew our vows this September! I'm excited about that!
~Pat will be 41 years old! Whoa!
~Another fall and winter full of family gatherings!

Ok, wishing you all a new year full of love, happiness, laughter, and endless blessings!
