We're Going to the Beach!

Well, since the girls have been out of school, we have to keep them busy. So, we decided to take them to good ol' Galveston. We stopped to have a delicious lunch at Hooter's first. It was my first lunch at Hooter's since before I was preggo with Mia--and it was delicious! Fried pickles, wings, and fires! Yummy! Even the girls enjoyed their hot dogs! we took a few pics while we were there since the girls were all being so good!
After lunch we went straight to the beach. Our 1st stop was Murdoch's Souvenir shop on the seawall. We had been promising the girls that we would take them there first. So we shopped a little and took a few pictures in the store.
Then we walked down to the beach. There was a lot of seaweed on the beach. Tons of it, but it made a great cushion to sit on! :0) The girls, all 3, of them headed right into the water. Even Mia, joined the older 2 this time. She didn't enjoy the water in Port Aranzas, but she loves her Galveston water! It was amazing to see these little mermaids in the water. They absolutely LOVE it. Thank goodness we live close to Galveston! And thank goodness the oil spill hasn't affected our brown water! It's naturally brown--no oil needed!
After about 2 hours in the heat, we finally made the girls get ready to leave! We've been trying to go see how the Bolivar beach is looking since Ike came through. SO we took the ferry across. The ferry ride was hot, but it was fun. We got to see a couple of dolphin families as we crossed to and from the other side. We really didn't drive much because Mia was getting extremely fussy, since it was her nap time. But it looks like, slowly, but surely, Bolivar Beach is trying to recover. So we'll just keep praying for all of Galveston beach and the Bolivar Peninsula to recover soon enough.

Here is my favorite picture of the day! Thanks James and Sylvia for joining us on our fun day at the beach! Yay! It's summer time!!!

School is Out!

Ok, so I did better than I thought I would on the last day of school. And I think it was because Splash Day was on the same day. So that kept my mind busy. But I really, really, really am going to miss my kids. They started out as the shy 2 year olds and left as these outgoing potty trained (most of them) 3 year olds. I LOVED my classes. Each child is special and dear to me. I didn't get a picture of my Mon/Wed class because I was ill on that day. But here are pictures from Thursday-the last day of school, May 20th. Oh, excuse the crazy board--it was in the process of being taken down. Oh, and these kids also got to learn their numbers in Spanish--and they knew them, without my help. That makes me extremely happy. Next year, I think I will work on the colors more, so they know that by the end of the year!
Kayla and a few of her friends- She also had Splash Day.
The girls and Natan- we'll miss him too.

Anyway, I really LOVE working at the preschool. It is the most fulfilling job I've ever had.
I can't wait to meet our next class. I am sure I will have fun with them too. And I can't wait for Kayla to start her PreK class too. We are going to be busy this summer, working on writing all the letters. Mia will not attend the Mother's Day out yet. We want to wait til she's at least 3. Next school year will be interesting, for me. I will have to drop off Leanna at her elementary school and then head out to the preschool--we shall see how many times we are late!
Well, we have officially started our summer. I really love summertime. It's the time we get to do fun stuff and not have to be on such a strict schedule! Be on the lookout for our fun activities!

Leanna M. Graduates

This Tuesday,May 18th, Leanna graduated PreK for the 2nd time! It was a bittersweet moment for me! I almost cried. BUT I didn't! I was happy to see my 1st baby up on the stage, but I was also so sad to see my baby on the stage. I know she has to move on...maybe I should go work at her elementary school! I have to let her move on. She's a bright little girl with tons of potential, so she will be fine!

Her graduation program started with them singing this super adorable song, The 12 Days of School. And it was super cute. The kids and teachers did a fantastic job! The whole program was amazing. And besides the handing out of the diplomas, this was the best part. I didn't get very good pictures because she was "3 colored crayons" and was behind the "6 pairs of scissors" so she wasn't very visible! Boo! But this is a picture of her whole class saying their bible verse and saying their nursery rhyme. And the others are of her and her family and friends!

Uncle Walter & Aunt Debbie came to see her graduate.
And so did her Tia Elida- Leanna's in the future.
And her never ending supporters-James and Sylvia-Honorary uncle and aunt!
This is my fav pic--my baby--big girl!

Rainy Day Fun!

Today was a super rainy day! It made us not want to do anything! Leanna stayed in her pjs until after 1! And I didn't mind! Anyway, to keep them busy, we colored, painted, they had tea parties, we made cookies, and we even decided to make a video! The girls LOVE and I mean, really LOVE Beyonce's "All the Single Ladies" video. It is the only video that will calm Mia down after she's hurt herself! LOL! So I found black leotards for the older girls and one of Mia's long sleeved onesies! Here you go...enjoy!

We're Going to the Farm...

Leanna's pre K class had their trip to Manna Farms this past week. Last year they didn't get to go because the farm had been too damaged by Ike. So, her wish to go to this farm was finally fulfilled! And to make it even more special for her--daddy got to go on the field trip!
They both had a lot of fun. From the pictures, it seems really cute. And it reminds me of Dewberry Farm. Pat said it was like a smaller version of Dewberry farm. Anyway, besides it being super hot and sunny, the kids had a great time. Leanna got to show off her daddy. And Pat got to act like a kid! Here are the pictures!

Mrs. Jones & Mrs. Alley's class!
This is an odd picture...she's the only girl with all the boys!

Til next time. Maybe next year when Kayla has this field trip, I will join her class!
