School Christmas Programs!

On Tuesday, December 8th, Kayla participated in her first Christmas program! We were all excited about it, especially her. The pre-k 3 program was scheduled for that morning at 10 a.m. The kids were asked to wear blue jeans and a white top. Since this was a morning performance, we didn't invite many people. But she still had a good audience! Pat, mom, Siena, Tia My, Sylvia, Mia, Leanna, and I were all there to cheer her on! I was nervous because she hadn't performed in front of a big audience...but she is a natural. She loves being on stage! Her class sang, "Head, Shoulders..."by themselves, and all the pre-k 3 classes sang "The Lights on the Tree" and "Happy Birthday Jesus" I have to admit, this show was CUTE!! And it was better for them that it was a day show, because they had energy, and they were already in the school setting. It turned out great. I took some pictures, that were OK quality (since my flash isn't working), but I also took some video. And I was impressed with the video quality in this camera!

Leanna's performance was Thursday, December 10th at 6:30. This show was packed--full house. We had to get extra chairs to accommodate the audience! Since her program was a night show, she had a few more people come to watch her. Uncle Walter, Aunt Debbie, James, Sylvia, Tia Irma, mom, Kayla, Mia, and I were there! Leanna was an angel for her program. She was a cute little angel, if you ask me. But I am biased! She did great, considering the program was about 45 minutes long. All she did was sit on a stool for 40 minutes! Then when everything was over, all the kids sang "Happy Birthday Jesus" in sign language as well as vocal! It was great. I was very, very impressed with this age group because they had to memorize lines, not just lines, but Bible verses! Many, if not almost all of them knew their lines, as well as their friends' lines! They were using big words too; like Corinthians, frankincense, Immanuel, etc. It was just AMAZING! Good job pre-k4 kids and teachers!! Leanna's pictures were not as great as Kayla because her program was at night, so camera was really struggling to get good pictures. Therefore I only posted the better ones!

The girls were so happy about their performances. I got to see them practice during school a few times. That is another perk I have; since I'm at school, I can go watch them practice! Anyway, thanks to all who came to support the girls. It really means a lot to them. Thanks to mom, my sister, and Siena for driving to Pearland, for a few minutes of a performance. And Thanks to Sylvia for getting flowers and treats! They were very excited about that. Leanna still has her flowers in her room & she "cares" for them everyday! Kayla's flowers made it all the way to Saturday morning.
Here are the videos..."Happy Birthday Jesus"

I forgot to post this picture last week from the girls' Spirit Day. We have Spirit Day once a month or once every two months. I had never taken a picture of them wearing their little t-shirt cause I never think about it. But I got this one of them last week! My big girls...

This past Thursday was Leanna Spring performance at school. It was the cutest thing. I can't wait for next year when Kayla gets to get perform. This year the 4 year olds did songs about David and Goliath and about not being afraid. It was super adorable! Unfortunately we were sitting too far back for me to get any good pictures AND I couldn't figure out what setting to put the camera in to avoid red-eyes!!!! It drives me crazy. I only have a few pictures that are ok...the others look too weird! Anyway, the program was cute. Leanna sang her heart away. She was on stage next to her very good friend Sarah, so that made both of them super happy! While she was up there singing, Kayla was singing away in her chair too!! She knew most of the songs...very impressive!

Since Leanna is one of the shorter kids, she usually ends up on the front row. That's good for us because we can see her. And still I couldn't even get a good picture! I'll get one for her graduation...I hope!

'Tis the Season!

Oh my gosh! What a busy week! I have so much to blog about, but I will limit it. This week was crazy! And I'm sure the next 2 weeks will be even crazier!
I'll blog about the snow and Leanna's Christmas performance!
On Wednesday night we had snow in Pearland (and everywhere else around Houston)!! It was amazing! My sister called and left me a message that it was already snowing in Missouri City and it was coming our way. So as soon as we saw the tiny white snow, we went outside. It snowed with a little rain at first, which is when we took the girls out. But around 8ish or almost 9 it was really snowing. And it was beautiful. I didn't get any pics of it, but I got a chance to drive in it. And it was so pretty. When I cleaned the snow off my car, after leaving Walmart, it felt like soft cotton candy. I always say I would never want to live where it snows, but if it's just a little at a time, I could possibly do it. But not when there is 3-4 feet of it!
Both the girls trying to catch a flake!

This is while it's snowing.

...After it snowed!

On Thursday night, we had Leanna's Christmas Program. They had been practicing for two weeks...and it was very cute. This year the 2 and 3 year olds didn't perform. And it would have been way too long of a program if they had. So our Kayla bear did not get to be on stage. I only watched Leanna perform because we had to work the program, so I left the seat when she was done. She did great. She was very animated with the gestures! They sang about 5 or 6 songs. And they all did really great. I was very proud of them all. I had seen them practice last Monday, so I knew what to expect. But it was still amazing to see them all on stage, following direction, and singing their little hearts out! Here are some of the pics I got to take. And I took quite a few, BUT I forgot to set the red-eye reduction, so these sweet little angels look a little on the evil side. Oops!
I didn't get any pictures of Kayla, or mom, or of my sisters. But Thanks to all those who came to see her perform. It was super special to have you there with us! Next year, we might b e going to an elementary school to see her perform!

Leanna's Spring Performance

Today was Leanna's performance at her school. And it was so adorable. The 3 year old classes were "butterflies & bullfrogs". They sang 3 songs. It was so cute. I took pictures, but not very good ones, but I also recorded video with my camera. It's so precious. Maybe I'm just a proud mom, I don't know. But you had to be there to enjoy it. It was too cute. Of course Leanna, Miss Drama, sang as loud as she could, stomped as loud as she could, and yelled "Amen" as loud as she could, during their "If Your Happy & You Know It" performance. She did great singing all her songs. It made me so proud that she knew the words and the meanings to them.

Here she is waiting to get her wings on!

Proudly wearing her pink wings!

Just singing away...next stop, American Idol!

Still singing and dancing!
The 3 year olds!

Leanna was so happy and hyper after the performance. I think she liked the attention. Tio Rey, Siena, Mama Flor, Tia My, James, Jay all came to see her show. Pat & Kayla of course were there too. She has lots of fans already!

Thanks to all that came and showed your support. I promise she was happy to have you there! And we were too!

Leanna's Ballet Experience

On Friday March 14th we went to the ballet. My sister had extra tickets to the ballet. The ballet showing was Cinderella, which we were all excited about. We were to meet my sisters and mom at the Wortham Theater at 6. So before we left, we took a few pictures of Leanna. Here she is...ready to go!

Once we got to the Wortham , there were so many little girls in pretty dresses ready to see the ballerinas. It was so cute to see tons and tons of pretty girls. Little did they know that this wasn't the Cinderella story they knew.
In this story, Cinderella was a tomboy, whose Mother had passed away. Her and her father lived with the the stepmother and the sisters. But the father was very ill. The prince is looking for a princess to marry. And Cinderella's Mother's ghost is the one who gives her a dress. Cinderella goes to the ball and dances with the handsome prince. But she doesn't like him because he is vain! She likes his secretary (who is a guy, of course) instead. When it's midnight, she leaves her slipper behind. The king and prince want to find her, but she doesn't want to be found, because she doesn't want to marry the vain prince. And he doesn't want to marry a commoner either. So in the end, she and the secretary end up together. Her father dies and is re-united with his beloved wife....and they all lived happily ever after!

It wasn't what Leanna knows, so she kept talking and asking questions. She wanted to know why the boy, which was Cinderella, was wearing the dress. This Cinderella had super short hair and her gown was a gold gown. Leanna let us know that Cinderella was wearing Belles' dress. The poor girl was confused. I kept telling my sisters and Joan, that there were a bunch of little girls whose Cinderella story got messed up.

I took a few pictures while we were sitting down. She's reading the Playbill with my sister. Then during intermission, she met a little girl. We took advantage of each of the intermissions to talk to Leanna about what was happening...and to stretch our legs!

And this is Leanna after the show. It's hilarious. Joan took a good picture of her. She was knocked out! She still had her little purse! Cutie pie! Thanks Tia Irma for letting share this experience!

Leanna's (First) Christmas Performance

On Monday December 10th, Leanna's school had their Christmas program. It was at the church. And it started at 7 pm. Leanna had to be there at 6:30. And when we got there right at 6:30, it was crazy packed! WOW! Well, the show started and we were way in the back. But we got see her perform with the 2 year olds. She was a present....they dressed the kids in gift bags. It was so creative and so very cute. I didn't get very good pictures because we couldn't take pictures while they sang. And when they let us take pictures, it was a frenzy! But Pat video taped. So hopefully that came out well.

So the the first time the 2 year olds came out and Leanna's class joined them and they sang 3 songs. Leanna was in the front row. She was singing away and clapping away. No telling if she was singing the right words or if she was clapping on beat. She was up there having a good ol' time. So was Kayla. She was standing on Grandma's lap just clapping and cheering so loud for her big sissy! She was funny!

And then the 3 year olds came back on stage. So this was her class and the other 2 classes (Less kids were on stage). This time she was in the back row at the edge. This was the cutest performance I think. the kids were so excited about "Jingle Bells" and "Go Tell it on the Mountain." They would yell as loud as they could when the chorus of the songs came up. They clapped and pointed. They had a good time up there! It was so adorable. I didn't have a good view at all for this performance. :0( Again, hopefully Pat got it on the video camera.

After the performance i went to get her and she came to have her cookies. All our friends and family that attended gave her hugs. She was on cloud nine. She loves the attention!
Here are pictures from before and after the performance.

Leanna & Aubrey singing (and playing)!
Leanna walking off the stage!
Leanna & Isabella hugging after their performance! They are so cute!
Mom, Kayla, Siena, and Leanna after the show.
(Why does it look like Leanna is doing the leprechaun dance?!)
Well the program was a success. And we were very proud of our little (big) girl! She did awesome. She didn't have stage fright, like I thought she would. She loved being up there. And she loved singing. Next year, she'll have a solo. ;0)
